Halloween may seem like a strange time to have a wedding given its association with witches and spooks and All Hallows Eve, but with this particular date attracting much festivity and celebration anyway, many couples do adopt it as their wedding theme and at the very least theme their wedding favors to it.

If you are considering a Halloween wedding then here are some great favor ideas to consider:

Jack O’Lanterns are synonymous with Halloween and you may already be thinking about using them for your table centers. But you will find many Halloween related items in the shops which features Jack O’Lanterns. Items such as candles, candle holders, candies, chocolates and trick and treat containers.

Of course Halloween is associated with trick and treating when children visit door to door collecting sweets and candies or playing a trick on those who give nothing. Give your guests some favor boxes filled with Halloween themed candies such as bats, spiders, pumpkins, black cats and cobwebs.

Surprise your guests by giving out a mixture of tricks and treats. Package each favor to look the same so your guests won’t know what is inside but fill some with treats and some with tricks. Of course the tricks should not be anything nasty, but you could include simple magic tricks or items you would find in a joke shop such as buzzer rings, water squirters and fake blood!

Set up a candy bar with Halloween themed candies and chocolates and give each guest a pumpkin shaped bucket to fill. They can then help themselves to their own treats.

Look out for Halloween themed candles or even fun dressing up accessories such as witches fingers or vampire teeth. You can even theme your packaging by using coffin shaped boxes, spiders webs, pumpkins and cauldrons.

Give your guests spooky recipes for things like blood cake and witches brew. Or create your own themed cocktails which your guests can try at the wedding and then take the recipes home with them as favors.

Finally give out some goody bags filled with Halloween shaped cookies or treat your guests to pumpkin cakes decorated with spooky decorations such as spiders, bats and Jack O’Lanterns.

Seeing this article on Halloween I cant refuse to stop and place a comment. Usually what is known about halloween is that it has roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain and the Christian holiday All Saints' Day. This will be greatly shared in my personal sanctuary
